Our woods are home to a burgeoning crop of Virginia Creeper. These ‘jungle’ vines can attach themselves to anything. I’ve come across dead trees that look perfectly healthy … until you realize that the only leaves growing there are these!
They grow up the sides of trees and sometimes can develop ‘trunks’ that are the same width as a healthy sapling. They sure do get in the way when you are raking up ‘donkey poop’ out of the woods!
It’s not a good idea to stand still too long when you are out in those woods. What’s that Rosie? You’re spending the rest of your days here in the paddock?
