Crikey!!

It’s a good thing we can ignore the weather when we’re dressed up in good outdoor clothes. The girls and I beat the worst of the weather by getting out early this morning to do the chores and try out a number of great sliding hills. It is crazy here today – pouring rain – freezing rain – followed by more sleet and ice pellets. It is blowing from all directions at the same time and beating against the side of our house. The trees are crackling and ice keeps falling in sheets to shatter like glass on the paddocks and the yard. The donkeys are tucked far into the barns. The Guineas are shrieking at the sound of the ice falling on the coop roof.

In the midst of all this we decided to pile into James’s car and ventured down the ice slicked road to the Tryon farm. Cari and Owen had alerted us to their newly arrived kids – goat kids. We left the car at the end of the laneway and slipped and slid our way to the barn. What a treat! Thank you Cari and Owen. The littles are hoping they can come by tomorrow.

For tonight we people have been enjoying ping pong and Wii games and treats of pie and ice cream well after our cheesy macaroni dinner casserole. I think we’ll all sleep well tonight.
