I am surprised at how bothered I am by the events of this past week …

It is not even my country …

He’s not our leader …

That was not our centre of government being attacked …

However, it IS the country my granddaughter was born in …

It IS the country my daughter and son-in-law have called their home …

It may be the country in which they invest their dreams and hopes for the future.

We also have siblings and in-laws, nieces, nephews and dear friends who call it their home.

It’s border is less than an hour away from my village.

Like the rest of the world … I wait … and I wonder what is the best road forward for us all.
