The first early sunset … 4:47 pm … Means heading out to do ‘afternoon’ chores at least an hour earlier than usual. We’re having such a mild November … so far … It made it easy to just focus on how dark it was today. Not really that cold at all. I get nervous when we have it ‘easy’ in the early fall. My experience tells me that can mean we make up for it with a wicked winter. (Add to that the arrival of the Evening Grosbeaks … both daunting omens for January and February … hmmm…) But for now – for tonight – a lovely evening to stand at the fence and watch the big dipper.
