The longest day of the year is coming soon … I was still outside in the light and it was after nine. The donkeys are loving the dark Bully Barn. I’ve added an ‘awning’ over the door. I use that term very loosely. 😉 Think more like four rubber mats tiled like overlapping leaves. They do the job though. The barn is completely dark – and pretty much deer fly free. Now I’m going to have to figure out how to teach the jennies to play checkers to keep them entertained during long days waiting for the flies to disappear!
Rosie is feeling much better tonight. Our vet suggested banamine instead of the bute to give her the extra help she needed. It made a world of a difference to her. After talking with other donkey friends I will not be getting them vaccinated every year. The stats on the incidence of the illnesses we were trying to avoid are so low here.
My new found friend Bhawani and her daughter Sita and husband Brian came for a visit. You can tell Rosie is feeling better. She made sure she cornered all the extra back scratches she could get. 😉 A lovely day around here.
I am now off to catch the NBA finals. Two really great teams playing their hearts out – Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. It would have been great if the Raptors had made it to this level. But is is much more relaxing to watch two teams without the pressure of willing our team to win. Night all!
