I mentioned last week that my version of the ‘donkey shade tent’ just was not up to snuff. Plus, the herd was missing their playground. So … we ordered some fresh 2×4’s and went back to the drawing board. We wanted something that Bella could use to get out of the sun AND still allow her to see the other three. Lately she has been going to stand by herself under the cedar row at the far end of the paddock. The gravel there is not exactly what you’d call a cozy bed. This morning’s efforts were bang on. When we came in Bella had already settled down to snooze in the shade within reach of the others. Hurray!
