We have been enjoying a ‘mild bug season’. Is there such a phrase? We’ve had black flies – but not a lot. We’ve had mosquitoes – but not clouds of them. That has made the Donkey Woods a friendlier spot.
Because we are not having a mild horse fly season. Those chompers have arrived. It is lovely on a hot muggy day to look out to find the herd sleeping in the dappled shade.
The big biters seem to prefer the sunshine of the paddocks. So afternoon snoozes in the shade are lovely.
