I love being able to get outside right after breakfast. The birds are singing away … building nests … feeding babies … chasing each other around the woods. I park the Bully and then wander around scooping and scraping and scratching and stopping occasionally to just soak it all in.
The back paddock is nice and shady at that time of day. I can refill the feed bins while the herd mows the grass.
They’re all very cooperative about tackling their morning chore! 😉 I was tempted to figure out a way to have them do the front yard too … but I think I’m too attached to my gardens out there to allow them to taste test the bushes and the flowers!
Speaking of which – our Dwarf Blue Irises have begun to bloom. Ede and I both find these are our favourites. They’re such a deep blue and are so delicate.
Last fall I divided up a number of big clumps so we now have them spread out throughout the sunny spots. What’s not to love about a blue flower! 😉
Mother Nature sure knew what she was doing when she painted these beauties.
Hope you are enjoying some new blooms in your yard too!
Hugs from the Meadow Mice.
