Strange day for December … very wet! I think after the trials of last winter I keep expecting the ‘real weather’ is just hiding down the street. We’ve had rain and wet snow on and off since yesterday afternoon. The donkeys have had enough of the ‘barn weather’ and by noon just decided they were going to hang out in the front paddock regardless. I had decided that I’d just keep the feed bins in the barns full … but of course … four pairs of big eyes were enough to lure me out to fill up the bins where they wished to spend the afternoon!
These wet days make me want to just curl up on the couch and read book after book … However, I have trained myself over the years to sleep best when I’ve read a book before bed. Now I have to ‘untrain’ my brain so it lets me read without then needing to sleep it off! 😉
So I’m puttering around the study. I’m browsing our local libraries collections. I love how their online catalogue lets me just wander. That used to be one of my favourite ways to spend a free Saturday – just wandering around the library checking out all kinds of things that I wouldn’t normally sign out. (THE best opportunity to do that ever was when I was a Queen’s student … and I decided to find out just what all those floors were in the Douglas Library. The stacks as they were known were floors and floors that were under the ground level. I remember finding an entire floor of philosophy and religion books that had me enthralled for hours.)
Hope you’re staying warm and dry in your neck of the woods!
I just love reading your blogs and/or enjoy your photography Wendy!
I happened upon your website through Connie Bresee (Brown) and so glad I did.

Hi back! Nice to hear from you. I DO love to natter … and the blog is a great place to park those thoughts. Thanks for saying hi.
Dark, damp, and dreary here. Great weather for afternoon naps.
I agree!!
