This shot … seven years ago this month … me with my first granddaughter in my arms… She was a wonder to me. This little ball of smiles and deep brown eyes that spoke volumes.
We got to experience all the latest and greatest in baby gadgets … who knew a baby could fit on a Lazy Susan!? 😉 I could sit and hold her and watch her for endless time.
She was one astute little being – fully aware of everything around her.
Including her family’s then much loved giant – Mordecai! He was a GREAT Great Dane.
If Mordecai were still with us I think he’d be ‘taller’ than either Bella or Rosie! He was one giant puppy with a big heart and a gentle disposition. I quite enjoyed strapping Kyla to my front and Mordecai’s lead to my wrist to then head out to explore the local parks.
Now here we are … seven years later … and life continues to be magical. I now have two adventurous granddaughters who LOVE to explore the Meadow … the woods …
… the paddocks … and the creatures. I find it amazing and humbling and even a bit startling how much love can multiply. How I can find that my heart was full to over flowing seven years ago – and yet has filled up so many times more since then!
I love watching lives begin … characters emerge … bonds forged. That little baby has learned a heck of a lot in seven years! One year in public school and look at the culture that has already begun to make its mark! Ha! 😉 AND look at the admiration in her little sister’s face!
That little baby has grown into a kindred spirit who can reach out to creatures – still so very much bigger than herself – to comfort and commune. Two of the totally unanticipated gifts in my life – right there! I am blessed. A little birdie has let me know that she may soon have a creature to share her own home with. That will make her one very happy girl. xo
Touching!
THAT is what it is all about..
AND … you will like this even more Leslie … her family is adopting a rescue dog!
