Warming Up and Cooling Down

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERANow this is true Bella bonding time … I need only hint that I might be able to sit and brush her and she is right over placing her nose on my lap, ready to go into a brushing trance.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWhile I was puttering around in the paddock Tyrek was drilling holes in our new feeding tubs. Why holes? We find then the rain can drain and the hay stays drier.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAll three of us spent some time working away in the new paddock. I’m pulling purple vetch. When I researched this plant I found some websites list it as a poisonous plant for equines … and others say it isn’t a problem. With Darby’s stomach on the line – we went for safety first.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERATryek and I then spelled each other off whipper snipping the longer grasses.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASoon … oh so soon … the herd will be able to be out here again. There is a large pile of gravel waiting to be spread. And there is also a bit more work to do with the culvert. The bridge that Sim and the girls built will be moved off the hill and back over the trickle of water that is left.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAEde trimmed the remaining saplings’ branches up so that they might be out of the reach of long donkey noses. Tyrek wrapped them up as far as that point. By this point we were hitting the mid-thirties in temperature … so we limped inside for a respite.
Warming Up9The best place to ‘chill out’ on a hot day is in our basement.
Warming Up8We had a wicked go round of ping pong. Look at that Cairns celebration! 😉
Warming Up7Then Ty showed us how to play darts with a strong arm throw!
Warming Up11Do you know how hard it is to make those darts stick into that board!?
Warming Up10And then even harder yet to make them completely circle the dart board. 😉
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAlthough we’ll be missing ‘Minnie Mouse’ – our drummer – Ede, Tyrek and I are gearing up for a Rock Band Marathon this evening. Plug your ears!
